 Pete Matteson performing on Trumpet
Teamwork is the key to the music and ministry of Pete and Tina Matteson, known as Portrait. Their music is composed, produced, arranged and performed as a team effort between Pete and Tina. To them teamwork means complementing each other's strengths and compensating for each other's weaknesses. This philosophy is evident in their concert ministry. On the platform Pete and Tina pour their energy into bringing the songs to life vocally and instrumentally, featuring a blend of original songs and well-loved hymns, humor and real-life stories.

Pete was born and raised in upstate New York, while Tina grew up as a missionary kid in Athens, Greece. They met and married while earning music degrees at Colorado Christian University in Denver.

Pete and Tina have dedicated their lives to full-time Christian service, and together have led worship in churches across North America since 1991. For six years they also worked in association with World Vision to help needy children around the world through their concerts. In 1997 they teamed up with Greater Europe Mission to raise awareness of the spiritual needs of Europe. Pete and Tina have a heart for missions, and are actively involved in missions conventions and mission trips each year.
Portrait has released three albums: First Impressions, Without a Second Thought and
Songs in the Night.
Pete and Tina combine elements of traditional and contemporary music in order to reach a wide variety of ages. Their concerts focus on celebrating God's goodness and worshipping Him; in their words, they want "to not only put on a great concert, but to lead the congregation in a worship experience that will have a lasting impact."
